Poop Bath

Beware, readers who don't like hearing about gross baby stuff - skip this first paragraph.

Another day, another milestone. This time, it was the poop bath. I had gotten home from work late after a craptastic day. Jack proceeded to throw up on me pretty much immediately after I walked in the door (ah, the joys of solid food - makes the throw up so much more fun!) and we were rushed to make bedtime happen. Jack was in the bath, I was sitting on the floor next to the tub on a work phone call (I make a lot of work phone calls during bath time, since Jack is very into his tub toys and doesn't really want or need me to participate, so I just sit next to him and finish any lingering work issues that are still going). I notice that he's like hanging over the side of the baby tub and I hang up the phone and think that he wants to get out of the bath. Well, he probably does want to get out because the bathtub is filled with poop. Awesome. And he's not done. He's still going so I plop him on the toilet but not before I get pooped on (Really awesome). But I've got to hold him with both (poopy) hands while he hovers over the toilet, so I proceed to get poop on him as well (Triply awesome) So we're both covered in poop (and I'm also covered in vomit) and the baby tub in the tub is pooped up as well. It was, quite literally, a shitshow. It ended with me just stripping and both of us taking a shower and then me scrubbing the entire bathroom down after he went to bed. I guess that's what I get for giving him a jar of prunes for lunch!

Other than poop bath, all is well. Family was in town last week, which was great. Jack had his first night babysitter when we all went out to eat. Naps continue to suck and are now no longer than 30 minutes, no matter what I try, which is crappy but nights continue to be relatively great so I still feel like I can't complain.

here are some pics from the last few days - first time on a swing (I know, how did I wait so long??), eating sweet potatoes, and lounging in bed

  3. That was awesomely funny. Thank you.

Even better than the time that I offered to take a bath with my seven year old niece and Calliope in the jacuzzi tub. we are all lounging happily when my sister walks in and says,

"what's that floating on the water?"

    Crap.

    Literally.

We had a rapidfire evacuation and everyone took a shower.

But I didn't have it on my hands, per se. Next time we will know the record to beat.

  5. Ha! Just wait until the first time you wake up to discover that he's finger painted his nursery walls with his own poo...and gotten his pacifier in it in the process! He's too flippin' cute!!

  6. We too discovered that too many prune feedings lead to PooSplosion so we've toned it doen, which is too bad since they were Maddie's favorite fruit. But 5 poohs a day is really excessive!
